Giving Back

DCCU is comitted to giving back and making a difference in our community!

Giving Back

A key part of DCCU’s mission is a genuine commitment to our community. We strive to give back to our community the same way we serve our members every day – with a sincere dedication to affect real, lasting, and positive change in people’s lives. As a credit union, we have the responsibility of caring for the well-being of our members and the opportunity to better serve the community. Here are some of the ways we give back to our community:

Corporate Charity

DCCU selects local organizations to focus fundraising and volunteering efforts. Some of the organizations we have supported over the years include:

  • American Cancer Society
  • Blue Ridge Area Food Bank
  • Boys & Girls Club
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Homeless Shelters
  • United Way

Volunteering
DCCU encourages employees to volunteer in the community throughout the year. They have planted vegetables at Project Grows, packed Senior Boxes at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, delivered meals for Meals on Wheels, and completed many other meaningful projects.

Shred Days
We are committed to helping protect our members from identity theft and fraud, all while collecting food and monetary donations for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank at DCCU Community Shred Days. The events are held in Spring and Fall at various DCCU locations.

Sponsorship and Community Requests

At DCCU, we see sponsorship as one of the many ways we support our community. It is important for us to partner with local organizations and participate in events that support efforts and initiatives within our field of membership.

Use the form below to submit a sponsorship request.

The following requests will not be considered: requests made within two weeks of the event, donations for individuals, personal travel and entertainment, general fundraising goals, religious/church organizations (including humanitarian missions), political/partisan endorsements or events, organizations that discriminate against race, religion, age, gender, creed, sexual orientation, or national origin, and organizations or events held outside of DCCU’s field of membership.

Please provide as many details as possible, including marketing benefits. Note: requests must be submitted each year for recurring events. We look forward to reviewing your request.
