DCCU has a proven track record of successfully teaching financial education in the communities we serve. For more than fifteen years, we have helped thousands of youth understand the concepts of money. Check out our resources below to see how we can help YOU become more money savvy.

Ages 13 – 14
If you are age 13 or older it’s time to learn some financial skills to help YOU with YOUR future! Guides to Independence is a fun way to learn about spending, saving, managing, and borrowing money.

Ages 15 – 17
Are YOU ready for YOUR first car but not quite sure where to start? “Get It In Gear” is a fast-paced, highly interactive class that will teach YOU:

  • What credit is
  • How to shop for a car
  • What the financial jargon means
  • The importance of good credit
  • How to apply for a loan

The 2014 scholarship application is now closed. Winners will be announced mid-May.

For the 19th year, DuPont Community Credit Union is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior at each of the following public schools in our membership area and one adult continuing their education.

Bath County | Broadway | Buffalo Gap | Central | East Rockingham | Fort Defiance | Harrisonburg | Highland County | Parry McCluer | Riverheads | Robert E. Lee | Rockbridge | Spotswood | Stonewall Jackson | Strasburg | Stuarts Draft | Turner Ashby | Waynesboro | Wilson Memorial | Private School, Home Schooled or Member* | Adult Continuing Education**

2014 Scholarship Guidelines:

  1. Deadline for requirements is 12:00 midnight on April 18, 2014. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  2. The scholarship proceeds must be used to attend at least a two-year accredited educational institution.
  3. This scholarship is a one-time award.
  4. Applications and requirements will be forwarded to the scholarship committee at DuPont Community Credit Union.
  5. The award will be sent directly to the financial aid office at the educational institution once the Credit Union has been notified that registration has been completed. The deadline for students to receive the proceeds of their award is January 31, 2015 (this stipulation is enforced).

*Includes members living outside our service area, not attending a service area public school.

**Someone age 23 or older pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree living inside our service area.

Membership with DuPont Community Credit Union is not a requirement.
