At DCCU, we believe in the importance of providing FREE financial education to the communities we serve and we use a variety of training methods to educate the public on financial responsibility. Whether it’s preparing a budget, improving your credit score, or learning the steps in becoming a homeowner, our goal is to teach the financial skills that are necessary to carry people through the financial stages of life.

Free Financial Education Classes

DCCU's Financial Education team can provide FREE Financial Education classes for your organization. We teach a variety of topics and can customize our lesson plans to meet your specific needs.

Youth Education

DCCU has a proven track record of successfully teaching financial education and remain committed to teaching the importance of making wise financial decisions. We want to prepare youth to be financially responsible and help them build positive habits that will last a lifetime.

DCCU's Minor Lending Program

Ages 16 and 17

Are you ready for your first car but not quite sure where to start? DCCU wants to help you navigate through the process. After completing two online courses that teach you about the car buying process and how to apply for a loan, you will be ready to apply for your first auto loan with DCCU. During the courses, you will learn the following:

  • How to shop for a car
  • What credit is
  • How to read a credit report
  • How to apply for a loan
  • How to figure a monthly loan payment
  • How to calculate a car loan value
  • Expenses that come along with being a car owner
  • What insurance is and the importance of having it

School Education

DuPont Community Credit Union is committed to teaching financial education throughout the communities we serve. In doing so, we have helped thousands of youth over the last 20 years understand important financial concepts. Our Financial Education team uses the Virginia SOLs as a guide to work along with teachers and other educators to provide resources that help establish sound money management skills.
