A key part of DCCU’s mission is a genuine commitment to our community. We strive to give back to our community the same way we serve our members every day – with a sincere dedication to affect real, lasting, and positive change in people’s lives. As a credit union, we have the responsibility of caring for the well-being of our members and the opportunity to better serve the community.
DCCU employees choose a nonprofit organization to focus fundraising and volunteering efforts on for the first half of each year. Some of the organizations they have chosen over the years are:
- Boys & Girls Club
- Homeless Shelters
- American Cancer Society
- Big Brothers Big Sisters
- Blue Ridge Area Food Bank
- United Way
Each year, DCCU employees run a 6-month campaign benefitting the United Way that involves fundraising, volunteering, and payroll pledges.
DCCU encourages employees to volunteer in the community throughout the year. They have planted vegetables at Project Grows, packed Senior Boxes at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, delivered meals for Meals on
We are committed to helping protect our members from identity theft and fraud, all while preserving our natural resources and recycling at DCCU Community Shred Days. The events are held in Spring and Fall at various DCCU locations. Details are posted on DCCU’s Calendar of Events as Shred Days are scheduled.
