April is set aside as National Volunteer Appreciation Month to recognize the importance of volunteering. DCCU is a big community supporter, and our employees enjoy getting out and volunteering as often as they can. Behind the scenes, we have a dedicated group of DCCU members who volunteer their time and expertise to support their credit union through service on our Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, and Governance Committee.
The Board of Directors works with the CEO to support the success of the Credit Union through the development of our strategic plan, operational policies and procedures, while meeting credit union regulations. They also monitor Credit Union finances and performance. The Board of Directors ensures DCCU has adequate resources to support our commitment to improving the financial health of our members, while maintaining safety and soundness. As a member-owned cooperative, these member volunteers are elected by the membership and each Director serves a three-year term before being eligible for re-election.
