Scholarship Application Deadline is March 6

DuPont Community Credit Union (DCCU) will once again offer its scholarship program to area students. DCCU will award a $1,000 scholarship to the following:

  • One graduating senior at each of the 19 high schools in our membership area
  • One student who attends private school, is home schooled or is a DCCU member living outside of our membership area
  • One adult student pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree
  • One student pursuing a master's or doctoral degree
  • One student attending a technical school pursuing certification/licensure training

This year, we have added two new categories to now include students attending grad school or a tech school in pursuit of certification or licensure. A total of $23,000 in scholarships will be awarded. DCCU has awarded approximately $270,000 in scholarships since the inception of the program in 1995.

Applicants will be asked to write a 750-1000 word essay based on the following questions:

What do you think is the greatest economic challenge small business owners will face in the next three to five years and why should DCCU be concerned about it? What role can the credit union play in helping small business owners in our community be successful in today's economy?

The deadline for applications is Monday, March 6, 2017. The application and essay can be completed online, and the applicant is required to complete the assignment on their own.  If the applicant does not have internet access, they may visit a DCCU office to complete the requirements. Scholarship winners will be determined by Friday, March 31, 2017 and notified by mail shortly after.
