What is Google PayTM?
Google Pay is a fast and convenient way to make purchases with your mobile device at contactless (NFC) terminals in store and in supported apps.
Which of my DCCU cards can I add to Google Pay?
All personal DCCU credit and debit cards will work with Google Pay.
Will I still earn rewards/cashback on purchases I make with Google Pay?
Yes! You will continue to earn points or cashback on qualifying purchases made when you use your debit or credit card via Google Pay.
Will Google Pay work on my phone?
Google Pay is compatible with Android phones running Kit Kat 4.4 or higher. Additionally, your phone must support NFC (Near Field Communication) and HCE (Host Card Emulation). To check for NFC on your Android phone, go to Settings, then to More and make sure NFC is both listed and activated. When you turn on NFC, HCE is turned on automatically.
I am being asked to verify my card. What do I do?
For the purposes of verification, additional information may be asked when adding your DCCU card to Google Pay. If security verification is requested, simply follow the instructions within the Google Pay app.
Is Google Pay secure?
Yes. When you use Google Pay for a purchase, your card number isn’t given to the store. Instead, Google Pay uses a virtual account number to represent your card- so your card information remains protected. If your phone is misplaced or stolen, you can use Android Device Manager to immediately lock it from anywhere, create a new password to secure it, or remotely delete all personal data.
How do I make a payment with Google Pay?
With the phone unlocked, place the back of it against the contactless payment terminal. If prompted, pick “Credit” regardless of your card type or follow the instructions on the terminal.
What should I do if my DCCU credit or debit card is lost or stolen?
If your DCCU debit card is lost or stolen, call 844-231-2220. If your DCCU credit card is lost or stolen, call 844-231-2221. Additionally, you should remove the lost or stolen card from the Google Pay app. Once you receive your new card, you will need to add it to Google Pay.
What should I do if my device is lost or stolen?
The phone can be used to make purchases with Google Pay whenever it is unlocked. If your phone is lost or stolen, you may locate, lock, or erase it using Android Device Manager. When your device is locked, Google Pay can't be used. If your device cannot be located, contact DCCU to remove your card from the digital wallet. If you find your device, simply unlock it and input your payment information again to use Google Pay.
How do I remove a card from Google Pay?
In the Google Pay app, touch the card you would like to remove. Scroll down, then tap “Remove card.”
Does DCCU charge to use Google Pay?
No, DuPont Community Credit Union does not charge members a fee to use Google Pay. However, data charges by your mobile phone/device provider may apply. Please see DCCU Mobile Wallet Terms and Conditions for details.
