School Education

DuPont Community Credit Union is committed to teaching financial education throughout the communities we serve. In doing so, we have helped thousands of youth over the last 20 years understand important financial concepts. Our Financial Education team uses the Virginia SOLs as a guide to work along with teachers and other educators to provide resources that help establish sound money management skills.

Our team of financial educators are happy to make a presentation to your group. We believe learning good money management skills starts at an early age and goes on for the rest of your life. Let us know what you need and someone will be happy to contact you. Some of our most requested topics include:

  • Needs vs. wants
  • Saving Money
  • What is a Credit Union
  • Credit Union careers
  • Developing a budget
  • Understanding Credit
  • Preparing for college

Don’t see a topic that you are interested in? Let us know! Our team is more than happy to customize a lesson plan for you.

We have visited elementary, middle, and high schools. We can also accommodate groups for field trips to our branches. For more information, or to request a classroom visit, please contact communitydevelopment@mydccu.com and we will be happy to help.
